What happened to Roy in the hotel room is his own fault. I believe that because he was the one who went there in the first place. He could have not gone when she gave him her room number to the hotel. He knows what kind of girl she is, but yet, he still went anyway. So, I think that whatever happened to him in the hotel room is his own fault because he got his own mind and he makes his own decision. He wasn’t forced to go; he just went because he wanted to. So for that, what ever happened to Roy in the hotel room is his own fault!
Roy going to the hotel room is his own fault because he barely knew Harriet and he is already thinking about having sex with her. He chose to go in that hotel room and whether he knew it or not, she was crazy. This lady is a stranger and he has no business going into her hotel room even if she tells him to come into her room. The trip to Chicago was for trying out for the Cubs and to prove to people that he is very good at baseball, not having sex with women. Roy is a grown man, he shouldn't make bad decisions like this, now he has to go through the consequences.
Honestly, he did nothing wrong in this case. He is a kid from a very small town that is being overwhelmed by the sights of the big city. while there, someone he knows, at least in passing, calls him up and asks him to come over. considering the one asking the favor is a very attractive female, and its no wonder why a guy like Roy would be making tracks to the hotel. We as the reader of the story can make inferences about certain things when they are mentioned as we are essentially omnipotent beings compared to the world of the book. We can see when there are certain tendencies that go on that the characters themselves cannot see, as we allow our minds to wander to allow us to come up with theories. All the while, these characters are set up to live their lives without knowing what terrorist plot may be occurring in some alternate dimension. We can know everything, they cant.
What happened to Roy in the hotel room was not his fault. Roy is just a small town boy who is trying to adjust to the city life. When he arrived in the hotel, he was scared out of his mind because he was all alone. He was expected to arrive at the hotel with Sam, but something happened. When Roy got the call from Harriet, he felt relieved because there was someone he knew in the hotel that he could talk to. So by going to her room, he hoped to cope the change from small place to the big city, and what had happened to him was completely not his fault
I think that Roy was at fault by going to the hotel room. He came from a town that was way different from the big city. Roy was going to Chicago to tryout for the Cubs team and not to go with some random girl. He is not a kid and he should have known that if some one he barely know, calls him and tells him to come he should not go for it because he does not know her. He should have known that she was crazy because of the way she acted.
What Happened to Roy in the hotel was not his fault. Because he is just a young guy who is living life. He also comes from a small town where he didn't have much friends and he really doesnt much. He didn't even know how to give a tip. But that's not his fault because he is not experience with none of that because he is a country boy. I also feel that he didn't know she was that type of girl. He was just scared and nervous and didn't know much about the city life. So since he was alone and she called I think he felt that as a way to relax from everything that was goiing on.
I don't believe that Roy deserved to get shot in the hotel because it was not his fault that he wanted to be the greatest at what he does. He is a country kid who has the skills to make a real impact on the mound and it was taken away due to not having the brains that a crazy female had want to see in him taking away his dream of becoming pro and being known as the best at what he does pitch.
The incident in the hotel room was completely Roy's fault, he just wasn't thinking. Roy was simply blinded by the woman's beauty. If he was in the correct state of mind, he would've put together that the best baseball players were being murdered along with the woman's mysteriousness, he should've known she was bad news. Also, before going to the hotel room by himself, he should've found out why she was being so protective of her hat box and found out what was in it.
No, I don't think that what happens in the hotel room is completely Roy's fault. Roy had plenty on his mind when he was walking into that hotel. His friend Sam, the only person that Roy knew in this new and unusual place, had left Roy by himself. Roy has not even started to adjust to life in the big city when he meets a strange but beautiful young woman who makes his heart skip a beat. Roy could not have possibly been in the right state of mind, due to all of these occurrences. He even wonders how Harriet knew where he was, but makes the blunder of not questioning it very much, because of his clouded judgment.
What happened to Roy was not his fault. It was not something he was able to predict. In my opinion Roy was just trying to have some fun, and Harriet is the one to blame. It would be pretty ridiculous to blame Roy for the action's of a crazy woman. I could see why one might say it was dumb of him to go to her hotel room, but as we seen in more than one occasion Roy is not good with social situations. If he's not used to being around people he cant be expected to know how to read and get vibes from people. Roy could not see Harriet as a crazy woman she was, he just seen her as a pretty girl he liked and wanted to have fun with.
What happened to Roy was not his fault. How was he supposed to know that the woman is a serial killer that kills professional players because they don’t deserve it? Roy was just trying to have fun maybe he never did something like that with a girl because from the town he is from is very small so he never experience something like that and maybe he just wanted to fun while he is here. Roy wanted to take a little break maybe wanted to ease his nervousness from the tryouts with the Chicago Cubs. I think Roy just wanted to have fun with a beautiful girl like any other guy would.
I think what happened in the hotel room was Roy's fault. He knew Harriet was crazy and he did not have to go to the hotel room. I do not think he is used to living in a big city because he is from such a small town. He probably does not know how to interact with people and probably can not read how people are feeling. I think he should have know when she was only hanging out with great pro athletes because I would have thought she was a gold digger and did not want anything but money. I was not expecting her to shoot him either but he should have known something was wrong with her.
What happened to Roy in the hotel room, in my opinion, was his fault. He was new to the city new to modern ways, and new to meeting Harriet. He should not have been that trusting with her especially considering that she was weird. He put himself into a dangerous situation because he was attracted to her. He put his safety after his physical attractions. Roy should have known something was wrong with her by her behavior in the train.
I think that what happened to Roy in the hotel was his own fault. Roy didn't have to go meet with Harriet and go to her hotel room but he chose to. Harriet was already acting weird and dressed weird on the train so he should have thought smarter about it then just doing whatever. If he knew that there was a killer out there killing professional athletes he should have realized she might be the killer. Roy isn't used to talking to many people so he shouldn't have met up with a random girl he just met on the train.
