Finley's Injury

Read Green Bay Packer Jermichael Finley's first-hand account of his recent injury (click on "a collison" in the article to view a video of the injury).  Next, comment in some way on what you read.  The subject of your commentary is endless, but these are some possible suggestions:  Relate what he went through to something in your own life.  React to one of the comments from fans that follow the article.  Argue for or against the new tackling rules in the NFL that are supposed to keep players from getting hurt.

In the chapter "School Days" in Friday Night Lights, Bissinger describes how little Permian High School prepares its students for life after they graduate.  Explain what kind of job Reavis is doing for its kids.

Racism in Friday Night Lights

One of the themes Bissinger emphasizes in FNL is racism.  How would you describe race relations both in the community of Burbank and Reavis High School?  Are there any similarities to Odessa and Permian High School?
