Best Sports Song Ever

What is the best sports song of all-time?  Explain why you feel this way.

  1. I think that the best sports song ever would be Here Comes the Boom by Nelly. I chose this song because when I would warm up before a volleyball or soccer game this song would be the first on our warm up CD. I think that many sports have had this song as their warm up because it has an interesting beginning that just makes everyone feel pumped. This song was our opening song all four years of volleyball. I also think that many teams choose this song as one of their warm up songs because the artist is well known and this song can be for any sports warm up. During soccer practice our coach would also play this song just to make us want to win for a game coming up. I know there are many other songs that people will say is the best but not one that is well known by many teams like this one. When this song comes on before a game it makes the team pumped up to win right away and it always bring the confidence in people. Even though some others might not like this song I still think it is the best sports song ever made.

    1. I can definitely see why you chose this song. I have heard it few times before, and every time I did, I felt the motivation behind it. The song over all describes the concept of overcoming the struggle, and working hard through it in order to achieve or get what you want, and that is definitely a very important concept of sports. Nelly uses a fighter as the character of the song, but you can substitute any sport player.

  2. I think the best sports song is Waving Flag - K'naan. The reason I chose this is song is because the first time I heard this song was in the FIFA world cup 2010, and I fell in love with it, it gets you in a really mood and get ready to play whatever sport you are going to play. We used this song in our warm-ups for soccer and it got us pumped and ready to go. I think a lot of sports use this song before the game and I heard the song a lot in pro games when the players were warming up. Waving flag to me is one of the best sports songs.

    3. I don't really like this song because it can't motivate every sport player. It always reminds me of the Brazil world cup and nothing more. It is a good song , but maybe not for a basketball player or a baseball player.

    4. I like this song too. It makes me very motivated and has been in many of our warm up cd's in volleyball.

  4. The best sports song of all time would be "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey. It's one of those very catchy songs that everyone knows. It's also a fun song, and you always hear everyone singing along to it every time it plays. The song is very often played at sporting events, and it very popular for it. The lyrics are inspirational, and I can see how the song would get players of any sport encouraged to do better or just simply get them pumped up for the event. To never stop believing and always working hard are probably the main two concepts described and talked about in the song. Which is probably one of the more important aspects of sports.

  6. My favorite song to motivate myself is "Worlds Greatest" by R. Kelly. The reason is because it helps me get confident about myself and pushes me to be the greatest I can be. I really like the way R. Kelly sings it and the lyrics he tells the listeners. I would go even harder whenever I hear this song. The song makes me feel that I could be the best at anything I do.

  8. A song that motivates me is “Lose Yourself” by Eminem. I think this is a great song because Eminem tells you how people doubted him in the beginning of his career. I would listen to this song every time before one of my football games to get motivated. The song is pretty old but still to this day it makes me want to be good at everything I can. I usually listen to it when I am lifting weights. I think Eminem was one of the best rappers of all time. I especially think he was good in the 2000’s. I still think he is good now, but I think he was better when he was younger.

  9. The best sport song of all time is "Sideways (2K Remix)" by CyHi Da Prynce. This song can be very inspirational and motivating when gearing up to play a sport. It inspires individual confidence which can then be translated into positive performances at any given task. The song is also great because of it's many allusions to the great game of basketball. In order to truly understand the song, one has to know a great deal about the history and even current standing of the game. This song both pays tribute to and shows respect for some of the greats of the game with references to NBA legends such as Dikembe Mutombo, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, and Robert Parish. Most importantly, however, this song's greatness truly stems from it's homage to one of the greatest rants in the history of basketball, Allen Iverson's practice.

    1. I disagree, this is a very good song for the game of basketball, but not for all sports. It is a very excellent song, with interesting lyrics and a catchy tune but simply doesn't appeal to all sports.

  10. The best motivation song to me, is the song The Champ by nelly. I choose this song because the song talks about winning, and being the best at what you do, it talks about dedication, and winning a championship. Everytime I listen to the song, it makes me work harder and harder in the wrestling room, motivates me to never give up, and push through even if the grind hits you hard.

    1. To me this song would be more or less a victorious song after a big win or a win in general. Being a champ is something you are after you perform what ever sport it is your doing, or after all the off/pre- season you did to become a champ

  11. What is the best sports song to motivate myself is "Flipsyde - Someday". I have chosen this kind of song for few reasons. This song as it starts it give me some kind of power to work hard. 13. In my opinion the best song of all time's would have to be "E.S. Posthumus - Unstoppable". This song is a classic in which it may have been played in an orchestra of some sort or an opera. the song may not have lyrics to back up the characteristics of a "beast", but the sounds of the instruments in the musical really has a good feeling with every beat of the instruments getting louder and increasing intensity of its thumps and rhythm.

  14. The best sport song ever would be Basketball by Kurtis Blow. This song is really catchy and it talks about how basketball is his favorite sport. And he likes to dribble up and down the court. Also, he talks about how he is the king of the microphone and compares his abilities on the mic like the NBA legends. He then continues to talk about other legends and somehow makes a catchy tune with it. Every time this song goes on in 2k12, I'm unable to skip the song and end up singing along.

  15. A good song to work out to or a sports song would be Eye of the Tiger. Its fast beats and motivational lyrics help you keep going. This song is a well known song also, so singing its lyrics allows you to focus less on the strain you feel while working out and more on the lyrics. This song gets me motivated and allows me to continue excercising when I feel like I can't anymore. Songs are important when it comes to sports because there might be one song that puts you in a mood that makes you determined to win or keep going.

  16. I believe the best sports song of all time is 300 Violin Orchestra. Not many people know the name but I know they have heard it. It is a song that will motivate you and have yourself thinking nothing but success. The Reavis soccer team had this as their warm up music and it really helped us stay motivated and think success. It is a song anyone can listen to and get motivated. I listen the song before every game and makes me excited to start playing.

  18. I believe that the best sports song of all time is "We Are The Champions" by Queen. It is a fairly old song, but still highly motivational and catchy. The gist of the song is that the road to becoming champions is accompanied by hardships and isn't easy. While listening to the song, I really feel like I can become a champion, that is how motivating it is. Not only is this song motivational, it is also a story of perseverance because one of the lines is, "And we'll keep on fighting, till' the end".

  19. I think the best sport song is Kevin Rudolf- I made it. I think this song is the best for a sport because it gives a lot of motivation. It lets the athlete know that he can win and he can be really good if he tries. it also says that he use to dream so an athletes dreams can come true if he wants to win. Also it says believe so family and friends and fans can believe in him/her. I think this song is a great sport/workout song.

  20. I think the best song is Eye of the Tiger. When this song is being played, you think of how much Rocky worked hard to get to the top from his movies. This song would get palyers pumped and would them in the mood when playing. Eye of the Tiger would make players work hard and they can actually focus while playing this song. So this songs fits best and would be a perfect song to workout to.

  21. The best workout song would be "No Love" by Eminem ft Lil Wayne. Honestly any song that includes Eminem is a really good workout song. It gets you in the zone to workout. You feel the energy from the beat of the song. Especially, if the song relates to you in any way. All you want to do is feel the burn. Try to push away all those bad memories, forgetting how bad your day went. Many of Eminems song talk about how he failed before he succeeded and how he doesn't need anyone. Also, how no ones opinion matter to him. It just really gets you going.

  25. The best motivational song out there would have to be Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." The song itself is perfect for when you are doing training seeing as the words themselves actually speak of what the goals of training are. the rhythm of the song is also the type that when listening to it, it can fade into the background and become something you work to the beat of, even if unconsciously. This song is the best for all forms of motivation.
