Dying Young

Which of the following lives would you choose for yourself and why?  You become the best at what you do, gain fame and riches, but die young.  Or, you become the best at what you do, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but are fogotten by everyone after you retire.

  1. The life that I would choose is to become the best at what I do, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but get forgotten by everyone after I retire. The reason I would choose that is because I see no point in being the best at a young age. It is a very hard situation to choose, but living is much more important than being famous. I believe that being the best at anything does not last your whole life, people would eventually forget you. Life is not a place where the spotlight is pointed at you forever, eventually someone would take it.

    1. I agree with you, " Life goes on... Whether you choose to move on and take a chance in the unknown, Or stay behind, locked in the past, thinking of what could have been.

    2. I agree, that when life goes on, people eventually will forget about you when you're gone.

    3. You are absolutely right, life isn't about being famous, and being known; its about living.

  3. I would rather die old and fade out then to die young and be remembered as the best. I chose to fade out because no matter what you chose either way your going to fade out after generation, after generation until you name is just another question in the sports industry. Also if you where to die young you record could be broken in a matter of a year; while when you fade out your are given a chance to set a record that can't be broken in a session. The last disadvantage of dying young is that you get the awards and records that you set if they found out you where using illegal substance. So in common sense it would be better to fade out then to die young.

    3. I agree with you, because it's a lot better to live a long life and be remembered for the things you have done at some point of your life, than live a short but rich life..

  4. I agree, I believe that I would rather die old and fade out then to die young and be remembered as the best. I believe once people die they get forgotten either way. Whether people die young or old, they should be remembered for the good things they did and not so much about the fame. I agree that life is not a place where the spotlight is pointed at you forever, eventually someone would take it. No one will remain the best. So I think my own way of thinking, it would be better to fade out then to die young.

    2. I love how you said, " life is not a place where the spotlight is pointed at you forever, eventually someone would take it. No one will remain the best." because that is reality. Some of us forget that we all are going to die, and being famous isn't what life is all about.

  5. I would pick to have all my riches and die young. To me you do not need to live forever to fulfill all your dreams. I think if you were truly happy and did all the things that you wanted to do in your time of living than you lived a full life. I would also leave money for my family if I died young. I would want to be remembered so my children, if I had any at the time, could hear stories about me and how good of a person I was. As long as i knew my family was happy when I died young than I think I would be okay because I know that i would see them soon and someday they would be the same place I am.

    1. You seem to believe that the term young means that it will be in your, what? Thirties? To die at thirty or within five years of it, would be a tragedy. However, that wouldnt be considered dieing young. To die young in most cases would be to die in your twenties, such as twenty-five. At that age it is doubtful that you would be married, letalone have children. Plus there is the bit about afterlife in there and thats something I dont want to get into at the moment. In the end, those that remember you would be those that were awed by your fame and fortune. It may last for a long time, but in the end, we all fade away from memory, given enough time.

    2. I don't think so I think you should live the life you were given and live it too the fullest. Also that you shouldn't die young for fame because someday someone will achieve far more accomplishments then you did.

    3. I disagree because I believe that people should, or at least try to do your dreams. Dying young would be stupid to do because there is so much other things to do in life.

  6. I would pick being famous and gain my riches at one point of my life, and then slowly fade away. I would pick that, because everyone would know me as the best one in what I do and than just have a long life and live the way I want to. I would have gained all my riches and I wouldn't have to work no more and just have a calm long life. At some point people would still remember me as a good athlete or whatever I was good at. What I think is that it's better to be the best one on something, but slowly fade away, than being the best and dying in a young age.

    1. I agree, I would rather slowly fade away because dying young wouldn't give you a family and happiness. Being famous and gaining riches being young and not being remembered is better than dying at a young age and still not being remembered.

    2. I agree with you on this one because i would rather slowly fade away but live a long life. Have a good chance of having a family and experience the changes in the world. People will still remember you at one point but maybe not forever.

  7. The life that i would choose is to be the best at what I do, and become famous, and rich and than just fade away. Living a longer life would allow me to spend all my money and have fun with it instead of, Just dying young and not being able to see what you would have become, and not being able to live with your family. I personally would pick the longer life because of my family and friends. I would like to share my money and time with the ones that i love.

  8. The life that I would choose would be to become the best at what I do, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but are forgotten by everyone after you retire. I would choose this life because while I am young i can be having a great, amazing life. I could be living the life I've always wanted to and be the happiest person alive. I would do the best I can and be the best at what I do and if noone remembers me by it then it's just their loss. I would rather be happy and do what I love while I'm young then to die young without having a great future and not having anything to look back at.

I would rather fade in my perspective just because I can live my life to the fullest retire, build, and develope a new young player that may be the next greastest player and possibly get some recognition and be reminded of one of the greatest players that ever playe.

  10. I would rather have it be that i get the fame, the glory, the riches, everything, and live a long life. I could care less if I am forgotten when I die. I will already be dead, and I see no reason to care if you are forgotten or not. When death comes to claim me, I'd rather it be in my sleep after seventy years of life, rather than unexpectedly when I am thirty-five. And even then, someone will remember me, no matter what the choice says. I became famous, thusly people will know me. Sure, I wont be immortalized for what I do, an at the very least say that i lived my life without regre

  11. If I had a choice between being famous and dying young or living a life where you would fade away, I would choose to live a long life. I would choose this life because even if nobody remembers me, I would hope have kids and teach them how to be great and tell them about my stories when I was young and hopefully inspire them. I would also live this life because I would teach my kids how to be succesfull after their fame days are over. I would teach the next generation of kids to have a plan B. Dying old, but knowing I helped the next generation , is the choice I would pick.

I believe that living longer and fading away is more important because, I would rather have kids, and teach them to be the best, and hav them teach their kids to be the best, and so on. I could live my life to the fullest lf my retirement, and bulid and teach kids, and make them stringer, and have them be the best. And get regonition for building the strongest players or wrestlers l, and be known for being the besg coach.

    1. Im glad to see a like minded individual. It truly does make little sense as to why anyone would wish to die young, seeing as if you do, you dont get the chance to impact YOUR world, as opposed to the rest of it.

  13. If I was given the choice on whether to die young and have a legacy or die old but fade away in the memories of people, I would chose to receive all the riches and fame but die young. I agree that dying young is a tragic event that affects the people around you more than yourself, but your legacy would live longer than your life and that's what makes the fame and riches worthwhile; being remembered by people accross the nation. Your legacy can influence further generations to follow your footsteps into fame and be the reason more and more people strive to achieve their goals.

  14. If I was given the option to choose, I would pick the option to have the life of fame, and then eventually fade out. Everything that is well known would eventually fade away. Having to fade would have its up and downs. The good thing about it is that you get to experience life in two different perspective. One is being able to get anything you want, whenever you want; and the other is having to work your heart out just to make a living, after the fame has gone away. The downside of fading is that you have to adjust yourself from being popular with the people, to becoming one of the people.

  15. I would prefer to be forgotten when I retire Instead of dying young because I look forward to living a long wealthy life. And that because Dying at an early point of your life pretty much Is not cool due to the fact that you would die and also to not getting to enjoy life and wealth, getting married and dying with your spouse.

  16. I would rather gain rich and fame and die young than be forgotten after living a long life with rich and fame. I feel this way for several reasons. Obviously in order to be rich and famous, I have to work hard. Why would I work all of my life trying to be rich and famous, and not have anyone remember my great accomplishments? To me, I would rather be remembered by people, so they can look up to me as their idol. So people can try, and change the world. Let them believe and remember that anything is possible. If that happens then everything I ever wanted will be accomplished.

  17. I would prefer to gain all the riches and fame, as well as be the best at what I was and die young. I would be able to be remembered forever as the best there ever was. Knowing that I was the best and will be in the record books would have me feel that my life is fulfilled. If I were to continue living after my peak, I do not know whether or not i could continue to live a productive life. I would much rather live and have the legacy of being the best, rather than fade out and be forgotten like most others. After becoming the best at something, anything else you do in your life would become a disappointment and possibly lead to depression.

  18. The life that I woukd have to choose is to be rich and be famous for what I do and slowly fade away. The reason why I would choose that life style because why would anyone want to die young. When they know they were once great at that thing they did and was once famous for that. At least your still rich and have some fame. I feel like if you really love what you do and even if you do become famous who cares what others think it matters too you the most, you wouldn't let nothing get in the way of what you love doing. So I would slowly fade away because it's who you have besides you which is your family that matters

  19. If I was forced to choose between the two, I would choose to be great and fade away, living a long life after my fame. There should be more to life than fame and glory. You should have something to look forward to after sports, school, or whatever it is that you "peaked" at. If there isn't anything to look forward to, part of life is finding that thing, be it getting married, starting a family, and so on. You should enjoy fame while it lasts, but it is important to remember that it will not last forever.

I think it’s better to life your live rich and famous and the best time of your life because you are happy other than doing nothing and being forgotten and nobody knows who you are and what you did. I would like to be remembered by people for what I did and the things I accomplished. I rather be famous for a short period of time and know this felling even for a short term and be rich. Then on i could of live my way of a live and continue. Then i would not think of other people say. I want see my family and friend around and live with them, then be super famous but death. To me at some point people are forgotten. A lot of people are not famous and they are living perfectly. This is why i chose to live on, but forgotten by everyone.

I mean yeah you will have your fame last forever but you won't be there to live and love the fame.

  23. Gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but are forgotten by everyone. This is the life i would chose. I Rather would live a long life and live it to the fullest.Travel all around the world and make awesome memories. Because dying young i would not be able to have a family see my children growing up. I would not be able to see the new changes in the world the new things that come out. This is why i would chose this life because dying young and being remembered by everyone would be awesome but at the end i would not know nothing about it because i would be gone. Living long maybe i would lose the remembrance but i would live my life the way i would want to.
