Watch the E:60 short film and comment on the sacrifice the coach makes for a player he just met. What sacrifices would you be willing to make in life? For whom would you make these sacrifices?
I think the sacrifice is the best thing anyone could do, especially a coach for a player. If I were in his shoes, I would do the same. Furthermore, I would do anything for my family, especially (I'm proud to say it) my mom. I'd do whatever it takes to keep her alive, even if it means donating organs.
I agree with you josh I think before any one else I would choose my mom to donate any organs to. It's not being selfish i just don't think I could give any of my organs to anyone.
What an awesome sacrifice the coach made for his player. I wouldn't think twice about being tested to see if I were a match. Family plays a very important role in my life and I wouldn't hesitate to help any of them out regardless of the situation especially if an organ is needed to save their life. When I really think about it, I would help friends, classmates, my team, even someone I hardly knew.
The gift that Kevin Jordan recieved from his coach is one of the best gifts anyone can give someone, the gift of life. The coach gave a player he only met once before the kidney transplant a second chance in life. Many people would hesitate to do so but Jordan's coach stepped in when none of his family members could. I don't know if I would be able to do the same for someone I barely knew, but for my close family I think I would do everything in my power to save their life.
The coach is very caring person and did an unbelievable and wonderful thing for his player. My sacrifice would be to help anyone in need of the same situation , why wouldn't you save a life , when you know it's in your hands and power. No debut in a heart beat would I do the samething ,like the coach did for one of his players, if one of my team mates were in the situation , I would test and see if I was a match , to save someone life, it's a inspiration to others for helping another person out .
I think him doing this for someone he just met is incredible. He gave him a second chance to live and he should really be grateful for this. If i was in a position to help save a life, i would take it. I know if my life was at risk, someone would do the same for me. I would make these sacrifices a lot more for my close family and friends. Although doesn't mean i wouldn't for a stranger.
That is a amazing sacrifice, donating an organ to a player you barley know. I would do that same as the coach because I would want the person I was donating to, to be able to live there life. I wouldn't think twice about donating an organ to a family member that needed it. If I was the right match I would do it as soon as possible to get it to them. I would even help out an stranger who would need it as well.
I wouldn't think twice about donating an organ to my family members either, but to a stranger I'm not really sure. I have tons of respect for that coach.
This is a perfect example that people still care for each other. The coach gave Kevin probably the biggest gift he could ever get, second chance to live. I would've done the same thing for my family but to be honest I think I would hesitate if it was someone i don't know. However, considering the coaches situation I think I would have taken the same approach because I don't think I would be able to live with the fact that I could have saved someone's life. The coaches approach is unbelievable and deserves respect.
This is a very inspiring story! Seen how the coach barely meet Kevin and Kevin' hasn't even played for him yet and the coach is willing to give up a kidney for a player he yet still dosent know is amazing it takes a real kind person to do that! In my personal opinion and honesty I wouldn't do that for just anyone. I feel I would only do it for a family member or a close friend or someone I know. Or even for someone who's story got to me or touched me but not just for someone I meet! I don't want to say I'll never do it because maybe some day I might change my mind but I do admire that coach for doing so. He's very kind and brave for giving up a kidney for a player he just meet .
The coach is a very inspirational person. He barely knew Kevin Jordan, and to give up his kidney to someone he barely knew is honorable. I would be willing to make big sacrifices for my family. I would also make sacrifices for friends and even strangers. There are people who need help and if I could help them I would take that opportunity to help. If you reverse the situation, you would be hoping for someone to help you.
I think coach Tom Walter is a hero for giving one of his players, Kevin Jordan, a kidney transplant. It is amazing to think that someone would go completly out of their way to do something like that for someone they barely know. I don't think I would be able to give someone I barely know one of my kidneys. After watching this video my thoughts have changed because I can see what a huge impact it had on Kevin. If he never recieved a transplant he may have died. He gave Kevin something he deeply desired; A second chance. People like coach Walter make this world a much better place.
I understand barra about if you weren't willing but like I said , if you had the chance to save someone and change their lives , I bet you would have the courage .
Its unbelievable what the coach did to Jordan. He gave him a scond chance, he saved his life. Thats an amazing sacrifice. He knew that Jordan was a very talented young guy and he helped him. I would make big sacrifices like that for my family, but not sure if I would to a stranger, it would have to depend on who that person is. I think that he is one of the best coaches out there. This shows that there is still people on earth that like to help others, I repect people like that a lot.
I would make any sacrafice for a player that was amazing how the coach gave jordan a second chance was very giving of him was probably the best thing any person can do despite him beeing his coach!!! If i was in his shoes i dontbthinki would of done it i would do it for my family not for strangers i would do anything for my family anyday
The coach is very inspirational and Jordan barely knew him. The coach saved Jordan’s life. He is a perfect example of sacrifice. I would not hesitate if a family member needed an organ. But, I would be hesitant if it was a stranger. It also depends on the situation. Jordan got a second chance at life. The coach donated because he did not want to watch him suffer from the sidelines. Jordan would not be alive if it was not for the coach. Jordan has talent and guts that he worked hard to regain his strength. I have much respect for what the coach did.
I agree Larissa, I would donate for a family member too. It just goes to show that some people really do have a heart and want to help others no matter what the cost.
Donating an organ is a big sacrifice already, but donating an organ to someone that you barely know is even a bigger sacrifice. Risking your life for another persons life can have an enormous impact of both lives. You are proving that you show major respect for that person by risking your life for them. The person receiving the organ feels grateful and thankful they have an amazing person in their life. In my opinion donating an organ is one of the greatest things a person can do for another person.
Donating an organ can be a great risk at all times. Tahtsnwhy i respect the people who do it for someone no matter the relashionship! Its a secong chance at the end of the dsy
I am surprised how the coach gave his organ to a player that he barely knew.It just shown us how even thou we live in a messed up world there is it good people out there to sacrifice anything to help a fellow human begin. I would scarify whatever I need if it meant saving somebody from dying. I will give up an organ for a family member and that why when I turn 18, I am going to be an organ donor.
I would rather have it be that i get the fame, the glory, the riches, everything, and live a long life. I could care less if I am forgotten when I die. I will already be dead, and I see no reason to care if you are forgotten or not. When death comes to claim me, I'd rather it be in my sleep after seventy years of life, rather than unexpectedly when I am thirty-five. And even then, someone will remember me, no matter what the choice says. I became famous, thusly people will know me. Sure, I wont be immortalized for what I do, an at the very least say that i lived my life without regre
The main thing that was surprised how life could be changeable and good to some people. It the best sacrifice to help. The best example is how could the coach gave the organ to Jordan. We are giving a lot of respect to this kind of people. Tom to me is a hero as i would say. Walter to me is the best of the best know couches out there.

Furthermore, I would do anything for my family, especially (I'm proud to say it) my mom. I'd do whatever it takes to keep her alive, even if it means donating organs.
ReplyDeleteMy mom tops my list too along with my brother and my extended family. There is no greater reward than to help someone who is sick.
DeleteI agree with you josh I think before any one else I would choose my mom to donate any organs to. It's not being selfish i just don't think I could give any of my organs to anyone.

ReplyDeletePiotr I agree that the coach gave Jordan the best gift you can give anybody.
DeleteI would definitely do it for family because they would do the same thing for you.
DeleteI agree with you marisela but what happens if that one last kidney you have fails on you ? Then what I'm screwed.
DeleteIts amazing what the coach did to Jordan. I've never see a coach do that before. He is one lucky, talented guy.
DeleteThe best of best couches out there saving lives i strongly agree.

ReplyDeleteDo you mean no doubt in a heart? Other than that, I agree with you
DeleteI agree. you should save a person's life if you had the chance. Their is no better gift to give someone.

ReplyDeleteI would do the same thing, if a stranger needed an organ badly and i knew I could give mine i would do it.
DeleteThat's very nice of you as a person and very respectful to donate an organ. That's good nice if you to think that way.

ReplyDeleteThat's true, people like coach Walter make the world a better place but there are few people like him.
DeleteWe need a lot more Tom Walters in this world. Even at Reavis, people can't even let others borrow a pencil, let alone give them an organ.
DeleteI agree with you Tino. There are more parsimonious than munifecent people in the world and I think that should change.

ReplyDeleteI think the most shocking part for me was that the coach had never seen him play or even played for him and he gave that kidney like nothing
