  1. I only been at Reavis since junior year but in that one year and this year I feel that Reavis does help us prepare for life after graduating. The way Reavis help us is they treat us like adults and most of the class we have to pick from help us in the future. The way I know is that we can learn a different language and also the English class that help us to become better writers and autos teach us how to fix things that are simple on a car instead of paying somebody to do the job. Also the many classes here challenge us not like Permian who don't care how the students do in the class. Here the teachers try to help you in any way possible so you can pass the class and still get what you are supposed to do. The Permian teachers just gave up on their students and do not challenge them mentality.

    1. It's true that Reavis treats us like adults in the sense that we take on the responsibility that comes with it.

    2. I agree with you that the teachers are more helpful here than at Permian.

  2. I personally believe that Reavis is a good school. It has tools to prepare for you for college, but not everyone takes advantage of it. We also have deans and councilors that help us plan for the future. Reavis has programs that help with careers, a good example is the fire cadet program. There's classes that can help your future career. There's drafting, woodwork, AP art, and more. In conclusion, Reavis does a good job preparing its students. It all depends on the student.weather they use the tools available or not.

    1. I agree with you about how it depends on if the student uses what they learn or not.

    2. I agree with you 100%. The student chooses whether they want to learn or not.

  3. Honestly its Reavis does help with preparing us for after highschool. There is a fire cadet program which helps if you want to become a firemen. It takes you to the fire house and during your senior year you can go on trips with them to stop a fire from what I heard. Theres also classes for if you want to be in to construction type area. Theres drafting, woodworking and then carpentry and they actually help you if your interested in doing that type of work. Then there's autos if you want to work on cars. There's all types of classes to prepare for the future.

    1. We'll said I totally agree whit you Cody Reavis high school has May classes that challenge a student for future jobs. They don't just challenge you they prepare you very well

    2. I agree Cody, cause those careers are a life time ,those instructors do a great job, explaining and giving detailed career advise if proceeding into one or the other

    3. I agree Cody, there is a wide variety of classes at Reavis that prepare students in stable fields.

  4. Reavis offers all the tools a student can wish for to prepare themselves for the future. Most refuse to take the help, and throw it out the window by not paying attention or not taking school seriously. The teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators all provide a little something for the students in their 4 years but it's all in the hands of the student. The "want" to learn is a vital part in a student's success in anything, but especially in school. Furthermore, if a student wishes to use all the great tools Reavis offers, sky is the limit for them.

    2. I totally agree whit you tino there is much help at Reavis high school and some students take don't take advantage at all. But really RHS helps and prepared students for the real world bottom line

    3. The students should be taking advantage whether they like school or not. They are heading into the real world soon and what would they do without an education?

      Delete
    4. I agree it is up to the student to decide if they want to use the tools.

  5. Reavis is a good school in preparing students for the future. It provides a wide variety of challenging classes that can help a student choose their career path in the future. Classes are well funded and we have a woodshop and an automotive shop for those interested in engineering or carpentry. The homeroom meetings our counselors hold every so often open our eyes to all the careers that are out there and how someone can get into that field. Ultimately no matter how hard a school tries to prepare us for the future it depends on the student. Will he/she take advantage of what the school has to offer or will they just ignore it?

    1. Piotr I agree with you that it doesn't matter how much the school tries to prepare us for the future. It main up to us to take advantage of the class they offer us.

    2. Homeroom meetings are very helpful. We recently learned more about the college application process which helps us keep organized.

  6. I been at Reavis High School since junior year and wow I'm so impressed whit the teachers here, there amazing and so we'll equipped whit knowledge. Teachers at RHS actually focus on the students listen to what they have to say correct them in a nice way if required but only for the better of the student. Teachers help I and my fellow peers so much they offer ram and inclass help, which is my personal qualities teachers at RHS have so helpful. They give us the right knowledge we need they don't beat around the bush give us the knowledge we need which is very helpful. They have special classes like communications which prepare a student for future cases of speaking publicly and important interviews. So Reavis High School is doing plenty of great things to prepare us for the future and after high school

  7. Reavis is doing a lot of things to prepare us for life. We have all kinds of meeting to help us choose our career. Not everyone takes advantage of this, a lot of people just dont care about these meetings and work, so they just dont pay attention. Reavis is a good school, the teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators all try to prepare us for the future. Theres a couple classes that can help us with finding out what were good at, like autos, woodworking, culinary arts and so on. In my opinion Reavis is doing a really good job.

  8. I attend Reavis High school since freshman year and I believe it helped me become who I am right now. Our school offers many different types of courses and levels that a person can choose from. If you are the type of person that wants to push themselves and achieve something our school is able to prepare you by offering fast paced Ap classes. However, some people choose to take classes that don't really challenge them which does not really prepare them and that's their own decision. Reavis offers the opportunities to prepare you for your future but it's only your own decision if you are willing to accept those opportunities that will help you.

  9. I think reavis gives us the opportunity to prepare ourselves for collage. Reavis has a myriad of AP classes for students to take. If a student really wants to prepare themselvs for collage they have an option to take these classes. In my opinion, a school doesn't have to prepare its students for collage any more than offering them more challenging classes. It's up to the student to decide if he or she wants to further prepare themselves for collage.

    1. I agree with you Barra its the students choice to decide if they wanna further pre pare themselves for college.

    2. Barra, you do have a good point but AP classes aren't the only tool Reavis uses to prepare students for their future.

    3. I agree with tino, AP classes arnt the only classes to help prepare us for the future

    4. I agree they have tools to prepare for the future

  10. Reavis High School does a good job preparing us for the future. Except, not many people take advantage of it. Business classes and economics help us to understand and manage money. But, some classes are not challenging enough. The guidance counselors try hard to know all their students and figure out classes that he or she should take to help in the future. But in the end, it is up to the student to put effort in their classes and do the work. If a student has no motivation, teachers can only help so much. It is the students’ future and whether or not they try.

  11. I am very impressed with how Reavis teachers and counselors have gotten the students prepared for college and the real world. Most of the classes, if not all, challenges the students' minds greatly. Economics teaches us how to properly handle money, and the homeroom meetings teach us how to deal with life after high school. The list goes on. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be the student I am today.

  12. This is my Second year attending Reavis High School. Before attending Reavis, I attended St. Laurence. The atmosphere and the teachers are completely different in both schools. I feel as if the teachers care more about their students in Reavis, than at St. Laurence. I know many of my Reavis teachers try and make their students understand the subject they are teaching, so they their students can walk across the stage for graduation day. I feel as if I had a myriad of opportunities at Reavis than I had at St. Laurence. In my opinion, the counselors at Reavis do a pretty great job of meeting and discussing future plans with us. I believe that Reavis has prepared me for college in many ways.

    2. I'm also stunned that St. Laurence doesn't give you higher education than Reavis. Well, I guess that not everything that is expensive is always better.

  13. I think Reavis does a great job but, i think they could do a much better job. It seems the teachers are more worried about teaching the requirements we need to graduate, rather than what we will need in life. They need to teach us about how to get a house, handle taxes, and more real life situations we will face in our lifes. Economics is a great class to learn all those things. However, it's only a one semester class, we can't learn all this in such a short amount of time. High School is supposed to prepare you for the real world and have the ability to know how to handle things when times get tough.

  14. I think Reavis for the most part does a great job preparing us for post highschool life. It has its weaknesses and flaws but, in my opinion Reavis does not have a myriad amount of flaws. Reavis provides us with many elective classes not only to learn from but, to see what we like to do. Reavis gives us a plethora of options, whether its to fix cars, work on computers, or even create art. Reavis also helps us prepare by showing us how to use Career Cruising. Career Cruising helps us see what we need to do in order to get into our future career. No one can reach his or her girl without knowing what needs to be done. I may not be able to speak for other students but, Reavis haas done its job for me. I feel ready for post highschool life.

  15. From my prospective on Reavis high school , just only being here for 7 weeks in, is that I do believe that Reavis has great amount of resources than schools in the city area , it's the matter of how the student applies him or her to the subject that is being taught, but I do believe some teachers could be creative on their lesson plans and get more students involved in their classroom, like for intense, take Sports Lit, Mr. Erickson applies vobcabulary as a way to earn points and get to understand the word to real life situations or comparisons to what we've seem, in order to understand what's going on, in my eyes I see many methods but few work to get students I envloved in the class, and I think we an more interactive material method from the teacher , more students would understand or take in more knowledge of things .

  16. Reavis does a good job in preparing kids for the future. Reavis offers a copious amount of AP classes which can help students earn college credit and save money. The teachers at Reavis are very affable and are always there to help you with any problems. The counselors at Reavis are great. They push you to make prudent decisions in high school and prepare you for college. The counselors help the students choose which classes are best suited for them and their future. Reavis offers so much to students but there are always students who refuse to learn and don't capitalize on all the resources Reavis has to offer.

    1. That's a good point and a point I brought up too. That it all depends on the student.

    2. Wow, I never thought of it this way. Even if lets say your not entirely book smart. You can get college credits from other classes like carpentry, computer repair and autos. So, you do not have to be Albert Einstein smart you can be Bill Gated smart and get same results depending on your future career

  17. I think that Reavis High School for the most part does a swell job of preparing the students for life after high school. It also does lack some of the life essentials that some people might need. For example if I wanted to buy a house right after I graduated I would not have any idea where to begin from. I've heard from old students that they did not learn how to fill out taxes or take out a mortgage on a house. Also, I feel that i'm not as prepared as I should be when it comes to math. How? Well for starters the last thing that I learned in math class was how to plot imaginary number in the second quadrant on a graph. Nothing in life will ever require imaginary numbers that do not exist so I see no use for it. The only classes I have found useful in Reavis are basic math, basic geometry, and English class. I believe that I have learned alot of unnecessary information throughout my High School years.

    1. I agree with you about Reavis not teaching us about taxes and how to take out a mortgage. On the other hand, I disagree with you about how knowing how to plot imaginary numbers and some math classes are useless for ur future. The point for students to learn that material is to prepare them for collage math.

  18. I believe Reavis does a great job in providing classes that may help prepare students for college in the future. I don`t really think they push hard enough to take these classes like auto mechanics, woodworking, electronics, powers, computer repair, and computer systems. I believe that it is the students choice if they want to take a certain class and no one should force them to take it. Our Guidance counselors also do a great job encouraging us and helping us to find a great college. So if you ask me i believe Reavis does a pretty good job in helping their students get ready for college.
